Dogs can have different jobs to help humans. Each is different in its role and has different training programs.
Chief is a Trained Facility Dog.
Here is what it means to be a facility dog at the Ronald McDonald House:
- Chief and his handler have learned multiple training disciplines, including obedience, behavioral, leadership, communication, and environmental training.
- Being a facility dog is Chief’s full-time job. Every day, he gets up, gets ready, and goes to work with his handler. He and his handler are specially trained to be focused and present for all the families at the house daily.
- Chief and his handler work in partnership to provide opportunities for families to relieve stress, play, and help them in any way possible during their stay at the RMHFW.
When you tour RMHFW, feel free to visit with Chief!
