Looking Back on an Exciting Year of Renewal A Message from CEO, Jennifer Johns

An Exciting Year of Renewal

I read a quote recently that says, “Giving is the greatest act of grace.” This really resonated with me as I’ve thought about the tremendous generosity our families have received from so many of you this past year.

803 families stayed 13,074 nights at our House

With your help, we were able to accomplish:

  • The renovation of the 37 original family bedrooms and common spaces. Rooms are equipped with new ceiling fans, heating and AC units, wood laminate flooring, countertops and lighting.
  • The North Texas Giving Day fundraising challenge and construction of building a new parking lot for our families to easily and safely access during their stay.
  • The warmest holiday season for families unable to return home. During the month of December, RMHFW received record-breaking monetary contributions coupled with the largest number of in-kind contributions we’ve ever received!

Jennifer Johns, Chief Executive Officer

Being away from home while a child receives treatment for a medical crisis is never easy; however, because of YOU, we were able to provide numerous families with a warm House to call “home” during their time receiving treatments at surrounding hospitals. Thank you to our community, who came together to help our renovations come to fruition!

On behalf of the staff, board, volunteers and most importantly- the families of RMHFW, I’d like to say THANK YOU, and wish you all a year filled with peace, hope and happiness.

Warmest wishes,
Jennifer Johns, Chief Executive Officer
